The Sigma 38 is a well proven cruiser/racer. Designed as a competitive one design class, still with good numbers racing in the UK, but with spacious accommodation onboard suitable for some fast cruising. This boat has been improved and set up for cruising.

We have had her for four years and put a lot of time and love into her. Living onboard and having our son (now 1) living onboard has been brilliant but with another on the way we need to find a bigger home. She is a real sailing boat with a powerful rig, capable of keeping up (and normally sailing past) most similar size modern yachts. But still with comfortable living areas and a lot of storage space that you don't get with new boats. This model also has a larger motor than original, a Volvo Penta D 2040

My partner and I manage a small charter company and training centre so we are experienced in working on yachts, we have tried to improve her as much as we can. The original plan was to sail from Europe to NZ but as mentioned we now need a bigger boat!

During 2016/17 we did a refit including a lot of major jobs:

- New keel bolts, after 30 years we thought best to pull them and found the old ones completely fine, however we replaced them anyway and added 12mm steal plates instead of washers (as per surveyors recommondation) .

- New standing rigging

- New holding tank system

- New skin fittings and seacocks throughout.

- Repainted 80% of the bilge.

- New PSS shaft seal

- Refurbished (professional in the UK) two long saloon windows.

In 2019 we:

- Added a new folding Gori 2 Blade Propeller

- New 4 man life raft

- New Diesel tank

- New Spray Hood

- New solar charging system (200W)

- Replaced the electric panel and replaced/sorted the 12V electrics.

- 1000W Inverter

- New Engine Mounts

- Extra board and cushion to make the stb saloon berth a double/play area.

- Netting around the boat (can be removed)

UK/SSR REGISTERED

SHAFT DRIVE

She will be out of the water this summer close to Corfu Town so viewing is easy, and launching can be done anytime (with prior booking).

It will be sad to see her go but she will be a great home/holiday home for a keen sailor/sailing family.
